By Jacob Mabille | Supplements | Unrated

We all know that the best way to lose weight is to eat less and exercise more, but sometimes you would like to speed the weight loss up. If you have tried eating less and have started exercising and the weight is taking longer to lose than you would like, you’ve probably thought about taking a diet supplement. The problem is that there is a wide selection; you want to take one that is safe, and you want to take ones that actually work.

So how do you choose?

Here’s the information you need to learn about diet supplements and how to choose the one that right for you.

What Are Diet Supplements?

Diet supplements are referred to as being "thermogenic" because they burn fat. How? They speed up your metabolism through different combinations of ingredients that are in them. Most of the diet supplements on the market use high doses of caffeine to rev up your metabolism which cause sleeplessness, nervousness, and the jitters. There are some diet supplements that contain all natural ingredients and don’t have side effects.

Hydroxycut

Hydroxycut will decrease your appetite and increase your energy. If you take advantage of this extra energy and combine it with exercise, it will help you lose weight.

There are some minimal side effects like headache and the jitters. If you aren’t used to drinking caffeine, you may also experience dizziness. Hydroxycut has several ingredients that are beneficial to losing weight but the main ingredient is caffeine that is equivalent to two to three cups of coffee.

ALLI

Alli is another over the counter weight loss product that can be easily bought. This isn’t a fat burner but a fat binder. It works with your digestive system and blocks the formation of fatty acids. Excess fat will pass out of your system.

You have to be careful and follow the instructions when taking Alli. If you eat more fat than you are allowed, you will need to stay close to a bathroom.

Procatol

Though not as well-known, Procatol is another FDA approved natural diet supplement. It is made from organic extracts of cactus and also acts like a fat binder. Unlike Alli, you don’t have to restrict your diet when taking it.

Procatol is a very effective appetite suppressant and can actually help you lower your cholesterol in addition to losing weight. Unlike Alli, you do not have to restrict your diet.

Lipovox

Lipovox is a dietary supplement that was invented after watching the Oprah show "How to Look Ten Years Younger in Ten Days". All ten superfoods that were recommended by Dr. Perricone are in this supplement. Originally, these foods were supposed to reduce wrinkles and while it does clear up acne, the best benefit of the supplement is that it helps you lose weight.

Oprah lost 11 pounds in ten days eating those superfoods that are contained in this supplement. This supplement is good for weight loss and general health improvement.

Now that you know information about several of the top selling and recommended diet supplements, the choice is up to you. As always, it’s best to eat a healthy diet and exercise for overall health, but if you want to give your weight loss a little boost, you may want to try one if these diet supplements.
