Cheek and Lip Exercises to Help Reduce Face Fat

The fat face syndrome has become such a disturbing problem to most people that a lot of health practitioners have come up with more natural ways to reduce face fat. The highly recommended methods come in the form of facial exercises which are centered on the cheeks and lips, the two important parts of the face that can help contour the face to its natural shape, but with the less fat that goes with it.

As always, the way to lose some face fat is covered by losing excess body fat all over by the way of regular exercise and a well-balanced diet of vegetables and fruits, high fiber and fish.

More importantly, more facial exercises are done to effectively lose face fat the natural and inexpensive way.

There are effective cheek exercises that are quite easy to follow. The exercises result to more toned and more defined cheekbones and more firmness as well as youthful, good texture and elasticity of the skin.

1. Smile and laugh more. This is good for chubby cheeks. Exercise by smiling as wide as you can with lips closed and alternately do this with smiling as wide as you can with teeth showing. Do this exercise for at least 5 times. You can feel the cheek muscles contract.

2. Close your mouth and suck in both cheeks so they will become hollow. Hold it for about 10 seconds then relax. Try to do this 5 times.

3. Close your mouth and puff in the left cheek first with air and hold for about 5 seconds, then transfer the air to the right cheek. Make 5 repetitions on each cheek.

4. Form an “O” shape with your mouth with your lips slightly apart and smile from the corners of your mouth. You can feel the cheek muscles contract. Hold for about 3 seconds then relax. Repeat five times.

5. Open the mouth wide and stick out your tongue as far as you can. Hold for a count of 5 then relax. Repetitions can be done as many as you can in the privacy of your home.

6. Pinch and squeeze cheeks daily using your index, middle and ring fingers; massage on the upward position so cheeks won’t sag while trying to exercise them.

Here are some lip exercises that would help lessen fat face.

• Suck on a finger as hard as you can with your mouth for a count to 10. Then slowly take out the finger. Do these exercises about ten times each day and the results would be less puffy lips and a slimmer looking face.

• Put your lips together and do an exaggerated kiss position and hold for a count of 5. Do repetitions as this exercise helps keep the lips and cheek muscles contract to become firm and taut.

• Close your lips and curl them; curl your lip over the lower jaw then open your mouth wide at the same time moving your jaw up and down. Do exercise 10 to 15 minutes a day.

• Chewing a gum is like exercise – It helps exercise your mouth and lips; also partial of the cheeks since you need to move muscles along these facial areas.

  1. Thanks, but I'd like to know how long it will take for my cheeks to lose fat. I know it can't be told for sure, but how many weeks, months?

  2. I think the cheek would work but I am really hoping the lips would work. I don't like having extra big lips.
