How Honey Helps Hair

One of the best foods that man has ever discovered is honey. It is all natural and contains a lot of vitamins and minerals that are good for overall health. Honey is also an important ingredient in most beauty regimens, most especially for hair. Honey has a lot of nourishments and beautifying ingredients that are good to nourish hair. It can retain water and this makes it as a good moisturizer for the hair and for other parts of the body as well.

The use of honey on hair can come in the form of shampoo or conditioner. It can be combined with other natural products to come out with healthier hair. These are some methods to effectively use honey as part of your daily hair care:

1. One tsp of honey mixed with a mug of water washed on your hair after the last rinse would result to shiny and softer hair.

2. To treat split ends on your hair, you’ll need the following:

• 1 tsp honey

• 2 tbsp olive oil

• 1 egg yolk

Beat the egg yolk and mix with honey and olive oil. Part the hair into sections and massage mixture onto hair and scalp. Cover hair with shower cap for about 30 minutes. Then rinse and shampoo hair.

3. Honey to prevent hair loss. Make a paste by combining 1 tbsp honey and tsp cinnamon powder. Apply this mixture on the scalp for about 15 minutes; then rinse and shampoo. This is good to nourish and clean the scalp.

4. Honey is also used to treat colored hair. It can keep colored hair to look shiny and alive because of its revitalizing properties. Just put enough honey in a squeeze bottle, squeeze honey on hair roots and make sure to gently massage with your fingers until the honey is fully saturated into the hair. Leave it on for about 20 minutes then shampoo.

One of the easiest method to use honey as an effective hair treatment is by combining it with olive oil and a mild shampoo. This results to soft and shiny hair without entanglements as you dry off the hair.

There are a lot of commercial hair products which have honey as part of its contents. These products have given hair a lot of help to prevent dryness, entanglements and breakage. The honey and the other ingredients in these products resulted to hair being more manageable and with less hair loss. There is hair growth after prolonged use and a healthier scalp free from dandruff and itchiness.

Honey in its entire natural, sweet flavor and healthy benefits have given each of us a preventive method and a good cure to combat bad hair problems.

Hi there! Alright, I have been doing a lot of frenzied research since last night when I came up with the idea of using honey to make hair products but I am a little nervous because many people have stated that it lightens your hair color over time and I have just gotten my natural hair color back. Is there any truth to the claim that honey will lighten your hair and if so is there any way to prevent this as some people have suggested heating it? Thanks so much!
